M/Y Northern Star is ABS, ice classed luxury charter yacht built by German, Rendsburg based, superyacht company Lurssen shipyard in 2009. Her breathtaking, amazing exterior is designed by Espen Oeino, while her fantastic interior design is done by the Pauline Nunns. She is built according to highest technical standards with traditional appearance elegantly lined in a luxurious interior.
M/Y Northern Star boasts six decks, offering huge spaces to her charter guests all connected with the elevator: tank deck, main deck, owners private upper deck/sky-lounge, bridge deck, sun deck and crew deck. Her main deck offers spacious salon equipped with formal dining area, two lounges, fire place, Steinway piano and guests study.
She accommodates twelve charter guests in six luxurious staterooms. All staterooms are en-suite and air conditioned with individual controls. Full beam master stateroom is located on the upper deck forward and feature: king size bed with 180 degrees view forward, his & hers baths and private, private sky-lounge with a bar, and office. All guest staterooms are based on the main deck level forward of main salon: two VIP staterooms convertible into a large family suite with exceptionally spacious baths and one double are fitted with queen sized beds. Two twin cabins are convertible into double cabins with almost king sized beds when converted. We use MYBA ( The Worldwide Yachting Association) agreement that is produced to standardize charter terms and protect the Charterer ( You) , the Owner, and the Agent/Broker.
It has standard protections and escalation clauses in case any problems arise.
Once you have signed a MYBA charter contract, you are obligated to pay the entire charter regardless you actually board the yacht.
In exceptional cases, you may be able to cancel, but monies will be refunded only if the yacht can be chartered to another client, therefore many we suggest purchase of insurance against cancellation.
Charter fee is paid in two rates ; 50% of charter fee when the charter contract is signed and 50 % 4 weeks before charter commencement. Extra expenses are charged with Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). APA is usually 25 % to 30 % of total charter fee and also depending on your itinerary, food, beverages etc. Captain will keep accurate records of funds spent during your charter and at the end of the charter, you will be refunded the difference, or you will be asked to pay more during the cruise if further running costs are incurred.
